The custodial parent can request supervised visitation to be held at a child safety center where professional staff supervises the interaction between the child and parent with the "drug and domestic violence past". This means that the parent against whom these allegations are made will not be alone with the child or take the child out of the safety center, and there would be complete documentation of all visits in terms of what time they start and end, etc. In lieu of a child safety center, the parties can agree on a neutral third party to supervise visitation. Talk to your county caseworker to see what the options are.

Most often people with Domestic Violence in their past are allowed to see their child or chikdren with out supervsion. Especially when the violence has been directed at the adult in the situation. If the violence has been directed at the child or children and Department of Human Servies, ( not always called that in all states) Social Workers have been called and involved, then more often than not for a time visits are supervised, depending on the extent of the violence and what a Judge has determined is best for the child/children.
If you feel that your chold or children are in danger during a visit or visits with an ex significant other who has issues with domestic violence, call your local DCFS Office or , if you have a free Attorney sytem in your city, call and find out what you can d oto get them supervised, also , if there is a domestic violence shelter in your area , they may have some ifnormation and who to contact as well.

Unfortunately yes they do . As it was explained to me by the attorney generals office. There are rights even if they choose not to pay the court ordered child support. If the absent parent chooses to see the child/children then it is their right. If the violence was not towards them there is no cause for supervised visits until such a time when a state official says otherwise(DCFS). However be careful, those with past including domestic violence and drugs tend to try and run with them(them children) and until there is an order stipulating who has custody the law will not help you retrieve them- both parents have equal rights to them. good luck

Yes--the right to parent your child is rooted in the Constituion. that right cannot be taken away without a compelling reason--i.e., danger to the child. Limitations on that right, however, are another matter. Courts have wide authority to impose conditions such as supervision.

Drug use and DV in the presence of the child is a possible basis to terminate parental rights, but no court takes that step lightly.

If said child is a biological offspring or legally adopted, and said adult is either still married to the other parent or is still making support payments, providing there is not a court order in place restricting such then YES

If it's their child - yes. You may be able to make sure it's a supervised visit though or change the custody order.
