As stated earlier, vitamin and herbal therapies and a change in diet can dramatically help. Homeopathy can also help with this imbalance. It's difficult for me to suggest which remedies to try. If you'd like to try this route, you can contact Soul Doctor on Answers (free, accurate advice) or go to www.homeopathy.org (they have homeopaths listed by state on their web site).

My son takes Ritalin and it has been a god send, sometimes it is the better thing to do. He went onto it and the child who couldn't pay attention and was always bashing his sisters up and was a year and a half behind what he should have been is now reading and although when the Ritalin wears off he hits, he is nowhere near as bad as he was. Don't knock it til you tried it. My sanity is slowly coming back. We can't give him milk with the meds so we give it to him in the afternoon. Taking him off of certain preservatives also helped, red cordial, 282. Looking for the "healthy" alternatives sometimes manages to jump up and bite some people on the touschie, like professional athletes who buy vitamins from the health food shop which are just one chemical treatment away from drugs. Just don't cut your mind off from all avenues. My son doesn't walk around like a zombie, he is very much there, moreso since the Ritalin, he wouldn't look at anyone, he wouldn't talk to anyone, now he is social.

Believe it or not... coffee. It sounds crazy but I work in a school and have been told that by many parents of ADHD kids

After speaking to our special ed teacher he says exercise is key.
It is a natural calming effect. He also states routine is an excellent help and no over distractions-- flashy colours on the walls in the childs room or too much stuff cluttered around.
He mentioned to have broque music in the background during homework and quiet activities. (soft music)

Treating ADHA naturally is an easy and wonderful way to live. No more drugs that causes symptoms of what you are trying to treat. Every drug has side effects, and you need to take other drugs to relieve the side effects of the first drug, and so on, and so on. If you are interested in more information, ask for "messenger"

My sister desugared her child and he calmed down to the point where he no longer had attention deficit disorder. he was just to hyper to pay attention.

It took her about 3 weeks to get all the sugars out of his system. She must prepare all his foods. No eating out ever because sugar is hidden everywhere. The whole family lost some weight, which was a good thing and the child is doing very well now. However....just one cookie or something with refined processed sugar and he's on the ceiling. Good luck.

I wish I could find something else for my son. Good luck. I did meet someone who told me she had controlled her son's ADHD with coffee! If only it were that easy for everyone.

did you go through his diet? with a lot of people adhd can be caused by food intolerances. two of my cousins have adhd, one of them serious, and both have calmed down to the point of absolute normality by changing their diet, one took out the meat, the other one refined carbs. with other kids it can be phosphates, and with others again dariy etc. pp. diet is definitely a route to try.
