i work with him every day ,hes a good bloke but hes a carrot top .Would it be all right to be socially seen with him

Why ever not? Just because they look weird is no reason not to be seen with them, he is your friend after all & with out you he might have no-one else so be a mate & take him down the pub. Make him pay though :O)

Go on, be mates with the guy, what's the worst that could happen, some girls fancy ginger, some don't, you could get all the one's that don't, just think, he might just be a boon to your love life and become your bestest friend in all the world.

I knew a ginger person once, i used to visit him in the travelling circus where he worked in the freak show. Even the bearded lady used to point and laugh at him which made me look stupid because she knew we were friends. In answer to your question do not be seen with this abomination as it could lower your social standing, not just at work or even in your home town but across the whole country. JUST SAY NO.

Sounds like you really need to grow up, there is nothing wrong with having a certain hair colour! Would you have a problem with him if he was fat, wore glasses or had a massive mole on his face.
Perhaps he is worried about being seen with such a nasty person.
