Resize using any kind of photo editor. You can use iPhoto, Photoshop, or even the software that possibly came with your camera. You're looking to resize the dimensions, probably a size around 600x800 or something like that. That, and your compression quality setting will determine the size of your file.

If running Microsoft Windows, with Microsoft Office on it (any version), you can use Microsoft Pictures Manager. Simply click edit pictures (after you open the application with the jpg loaded) and on the right hand side click compress, email. If you don't want to lose size of the pictures, compress for docs. I cuts off ENORMOUS amounts of size but doesn't affect the quality at all. Hope that helps!

the other ways mentioned before me are a good way too but, the best thing you should do is compress the jpg files into a compressed file (a zip file)

jpg files are already compressed, but the compression level can vary. You could open it in iPhoto and export it as a new jpg with a lower resolution.

You can resize pictures by using the basic windows paint program that's in your computer, just remember to save it when you change the size.

Take it into your editor such as photoshop and go to image>image size and then change the width and height (don't forget to constrain porportions!)
