Why won't my Windows XP computer stay in sleep mode?

I have XP also and I set system hibernates after 30 minutes and it works fine. It shuts itself down and I dont worry about it. If that doesn't work you might have something running that conflcts with the shut down order.

Probably some settings need to be checked in the computer's Power Management area or in the BIOS Power settings.

mine locks up in sleep mode have to reboot. took off sleep mode
