I had this problem years ago, and after the "experts" replaced the ignition module, and the distributer pickup module, _ I finally ran it down myself, - it was loose connectiuon in the wire (plug) where the distributer connects to the rest of wiring loom.
If your Jeep is older model with the "ford electronic ignition module," and the chrylser (or) ford type distributer with pickup (this is inside the distributer) that has plug-in wire about 6-8 inches from bowl of distributer let engine idle, and wiggle the wire(s) around vigorously, if the engine dies, you have found it! This was an 87 jeep, - you didn't state what year yours is!

Check the wiring to the battery & starter.
If the Jeep has a carb, and not injected, the float in the carb is jumping up and cutting off the fuel.
Chances are it's electrical issue.

Dont listen to the fag who said domestics die. It could be the fuel system or the ground, or you might even just need a new computer. My ford escort does the same thing, and im taking it to a shop. When i figure out what is wrong with it, ill drop you an email. I say not to listen to him, because my GMC pickup has over 100k miles, and i can still smoke muscle cars!!!

It is a Jeep. Built by Daimler Chrysler! I have a lemon (Oops! I mean Durango). I don't even think the junk yard wants them.

This sounds like a clogged gas filter or some relatively small part in the gas system.

Sounds like gas is not reaching areas it needs to reach when slightly elevated,... maybe fuel pump/filter, or fuel line needs replaced,... also maybe a short ground somewhere. I would have it inspected soon.

I think you might be turning the vehicle off with your right hand and that makes it stop.
