The Ten Tenors is an Australian crossover group (not to be confused with the THREE tenors, please). In my opinion they are rather different from the other tenors as they also include rock and pop music along with classical in their performances. They first won international attention when they appeared as guests on the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Kiel, Germany, where they sang a virtuoso medley of the finalists' songs. Their album debut in Western Hemisphere, "Larger than Life", is released in September 2004 and feature music by composers from Verdi to Vangelis and even those composed by themselves.

Ike Turner - For writing the first "rock" song, "Rocket 88" Elvis- For being the first "rock star" Little Richard, Chubby Checker and all the other stars of the 50's- For beginning the revolution of a new dawn Chuck Berry - For writing the first ACTUAL rock song, "Johnny B Goode" The Beatles - The first recognizable band Rolling Stones- The first TRUE rock band I'm sorry, but the Beatles were a pop band with guitars, not rockers. Rolling Stones were the first band to be the "bad boys" and define sex, drugs and rock and roll. Moving on... Jimi Hendrix - The first "shredder" Led Zeppelin - The first heavy rock band. They influenced millions. I suppose that Black Sabbath should be thrown in here as well. The fathers of metal. Eddie Van Halen - The one-man revolution. This man redefined how to play a guitar for all time. The Big 4 of Metal- Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeath. These guys took the revolution farther, and introduced what a real shred was to the world. I will finish with Nirvana for starting the most recent revolution, the alternative movement. I would call those the big 10 artists that shaped rock and roll.
