what qualifications would you need to do computer programing say for games and software? i know it may depend on what institution but what is usualy standard like physics ect...

Hmmm, good question :) I am a developer, but not yet to college. I do have quite a bit of expierience, and shall be glad to tell you that game programming is much harder than plain business software, so I would be confident to say that game programming will have higher qualifications, like C++. You should have logical reasoning and fundamentals of mathematics, especially for games you have to concentrate on Geometry (Co-ordinate system), Matrices, Calculus and regarding Images try to get some light on physics (light , reflection,shading etc). Hope this helps

You will need math skills and logic skills.

It sounds like you need to figure out what language you would like to program in. I suggest you find the company you would like to work for and look at their list of requirements for the job openings they have. Find out what programming languages are in demand for the type of work you want to do. Learn those languages...

i'm taking software engineering and i needed a gr. 12 math but i also took some high school level programming classes as well. hope this helps.

Depends what exactly you want to do. I would do a monster.com search for companies like sony and microsoft and see what types of qualifications they are looking for.

If you want to go to college for programming you should already know the basics.

basic computer knowledge will do for really simple games
for 3-d and all i think math and physics are required.
