1/3 - x/6 < 4
-x/6 < 4 - 1/3
-x < (11/3)*6
-x< 22
(remember, when u change the negative on the left, u have to flip the inequality:)
x>22
so the answer is, any # greater than 22

1/3 - x/6 < 4
((1/3)*2/2) - x/6 < 4
2/6 - x/6 < 4
(2 -x)/6 < 4
((2-x)/6) * 6 < (4 * 6)
2 - x < 24
-x < 22
x > -22

First, subtract 1/3 from both sides, so it looks like,
-x/6<4-1/3
Then solve the one side,
-x/6<11/3 (I work in improper fracs by the way)
Then change it to,
-x/6<22/6 (cause it's easier to work with)
Then Multiply both sides by 6,
-x<22
Then divide the -1 (in an inequality, the sign reverses if you divide
by a negative)
x>-22
And Voila! You have your answer!

put 6 in commun denominator :
2/6 - x/6 <24/6
Multiply all by 6
2-x < 24
so -x < 22
x > 22

Multiply both sides by 6
2-x < 24
Subtract 2 from both sides
-x<22
Divide or multiply sides by -1 (switch the direction of the sign)
x>-22 viola!
