The magnetic field really doesn't have that much effect on the biosphere. There are a few animals that navigate by it.

As a for instance, if the magnetic field were to suddenly disappear then harmful solar radiation would no longer be directed away from the Earth, but it would bombard and kill all life on this planet.

A lot more of the sun's ejecta would make it into the atmosphere. Not healthy...

there wouldn't be anything at all without a magnetic field.
