Well, it's better in terms that it is definitely more highly recognized. When somebody hires you, they would definitely want to see a degree from a UC or at least a state instead of a community college. Many jobs require a BA, not a Associates. If your'e jsut talking about the system in general, I think the cal state or UC is better because you get a lot more help, there's a lot more departments and more funding and has more facilities.

"Better" is a pejorative term. But you can only get bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees at Cal State and UC systems. Community colleges only offer associates degrees and certificates. Many people attend community college for two years and then transfer into a CSU or UC school because CC's offer prep courses for CSU and UC.

Cal State is much better than community college.

The UC system is to Cal State system as the Cal State system is to Community Colleges.

If you can go to a UC school -- do it.

Yes but if you plan on going, you'll save a lot of money starting in community college and tranfering over. You do have to keep your grades up to do it.
