I don't get it. Why is Chavez of Venezuela so buddy buddy with Ahmadinejad? What does Israel, a mid-east country have to do with Venezuela? My opinion is that if you start trouble with another country, ie. Lebanon with Israel, you should be prepared to handle the consequences of your war. Still, what does this have to do with Latin America?

Yes, I did forget that Venezuela was part of OPEC. However, are countries that are against U.S. policies always going to go round about ways to oppose them? 'We hate the U.S., so let's go attack Australia" for example, seems to be the attitude. Did Israel itself do anything to Chavez or Venezuela?

Ahmadinejad and Chavez are both petty dictators, though Ahmadinejad has a more genocidal tinge to his wacked out beliefs. Birds of a feather perhaps?

( i donot think i got you so much) but if that what you mean afterthe globelization world became one society every country is affected by political orother decisions took by other countries, away from accepting or refusing what you say, i think that everyFREE country has to take her decisions and points of view itself and that is not chavez one but it is venzuela one whether to befriend with iran, hate israel that is the right of it POLITICALLYas a country, also there is another way to look at the whole matter latin america like brazil ,argentina, venzuela, their problems are very similar to us as middle east countries may be because somehow we have simillar ideas forget about religion may be because all the developing countries are having the same problem, may be all this but weare very simillar, andwe have been always unlike some other countries have good relations and never got in a war with each other i hope you got my ideas if that what you mean.(i have to note to this israel isnot a middle east country or even arabic now even if this wasnot the opinion of whole world but we still against foramation of a country on the ruins of another ARABIC countries although, i completely respect your point of view and i hope you too)

He is against the American imperialism and Israel is one of the most important ally of US...He withdraw its ambassador in Israel as a protest to the Israeli war in Lebanon...and many times criticized US and Israel's policy...Mr Chavez said he had "no interest" in maintaining relations with Israel, whom he has accused of committing genocide...
Chavez is "so buddy buddy with Ahmadinejad".'cos they are both against US foreign policy...That's what they say...And they also made some oil deals...

He's "deal" is not with Israel, it is with the US and the fact that the US wanted to "own" mineral rights (oil) in his country. The fact that the USA wanted to control how Venezuela did business was a slap in the face of the sovereignty of that nation.
Are you aware that Venezuela is a member of OPEC?

It's because most Latin Americans are lefties. Most Latin Americans do actually like Chávez, so it's not surprising at all. To most Latin Americans, everything that is against Israel and in favor of Iran and/or Islamic terrorists is good, because of their resentment against the U.S.

Because by proxy Israel controls US foreign policy.
Thanks AIPAC!
As a caveat, Chavez is portrayed as a bogeyman beacuse he was able to keep the oil company colonizers from stealing his nation's resource wealth. Exxon isn't making biliions upon billions of profits while his people starve. Good for him. Everytime I go to Citgo, I'm buyiing Chavez's gas and slapping the face of that fat slob Exxon thief who made hundreds of millions while we paid out the nose. The ruling elite in the US hate seeing a brown, and indigenous person besting them.

Perhaps it is something to do with his sense of justice. Also, when you rule a country I expect the world seems a smaller place. You network with other countries' leaders, rather than your compatriots down the local golf club.

Trade. Countries don't ever want not to have it especially if one of them (Iran) has sanctions on it.
