Look at the American Medical Association website and the individual state medical board website ( ie; California Medical Association). It helps if you know the doctor's license number. You can get it from either their prescription pads or a pharmacy that has them in their computer or just call and ask. Complaints will be listed with the board. I do not know about rating for doctor's but if you look at their specialty (ie; Orthopedic, cardiology, etc) their are websites for each specialty. If the are board certified in a specialty they will be listed with and this usually indicates a higher level of education. The specialty website have a registar of all doctor's practicing in that specialty.

Each state in the U.S. has a licensing bureau, usually in the state capitol city. You can find out location on the internet. You are entitled to know if a particular doctor's license is in good standing. You can ask, but are not always told, whether he has had complaints filed against him. Another good resource is civil records at the courthouse. Use their computer or ask the clerk to run his name to see if any law suits have been filed against him or her.

There is, I'm also looking for it, but cannot remember the name of the website.

It's an official website from one of the medical associations. It gives extensive data about physicians.

Here is a website that does it, but it charges. If you get bad vibes from a docter, follow your gut and get another docter. Good luck!
