As For Systems Windows Is The Best As For Platform For System Mac(Apple) Is The Best.

In Other Words Buy A Laptop That Is Made By Mac(Apple) Which Has Operating System Windows.

Hope That This Will Help.

Do Not By HP Products They Are Not Stable.

Also I Would Say Buy The One That You Feel Is Good For You And Your Wallet:)

I've owned both kinds of laptops, and Apple is so far superior it's absurd. They're better made, simpler to use, and more fun. As far as the downsides to an Apple, I can only think of 2.
1) they are generally more expensive. Like you can get a crappy Dell or something for like 5 or 6 hundred bucks. But you get what you pay for.
2) There isn't quite as much software made for Apple. However, this has never been a problem. For what I use the computer for (music, movies, word processing, net-surfing, photos) there has never been any software that I wanted that wasn't made for the Apple.
Apple is not from Microsoft, which is another good thing you can say about them.

Storm,

It's best to go to your nearest Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, Circuit City, Compusa, Mac store, etc. and test drive the various flavors of hardware and OS. Mac it great if you're just browsing the Net, listening to music, viewing movies, and writing email. Otherwise, go with the Windows XP or the next Windows OS (operating system) since there are more applications that you can play with.

Dell, Compaq, and HP are a some of the top brands for laptops with descent Technical Support. They have some sales for the Back to School these day on the major brands, but I'd wait for the Thanksgiving/Christmas sale if you don't need it now.

Good luck.

windows becouse (besides the fact that apple sucks and there interface is confusing especally if you are used to windows or linux inerface) apple dont have local support (a local geek like me) and alot of games and programs dont work on apple of course apple doesnt get as many virouses but windows is better it basicly tells you what you what your doing wrong and any problem can be fixed by yelling out the problem in public a geek will come and help imedeatly also windows is microsoft, macs are apples.

hope this anti-apple rant helped

p.s. apples are more expensive and never update (thats why there value decreses more slowly and if you should look for a windows xp machine plus no start menu youll have to know where all of your programs are most of the time if someone likes macs they hate microsoft so there might be a rant for macs so it really is like sports (windows is to mac as any football team to any other football team) try them both out at a local store (they might not have macs if they dont your local library might have one somewhere.

I fix both. Thanks to Microsoft, I stay busy.

Apples/Macs might need a new battery after two or three years. Feel like the Maytag repairman! Yeah, I see the one or two each week that fell off the roof of the car, or was stepped on hard, by the kid, the dog, a horse(!?)... None of the "150,000 Microsoft Virus Definitions"! No spyware, no adware, no malware... 4 year old Mac laptops still hold their value on the used market! Does great work, efficiently, without crashing, and losing, all your days work.

Microsoft OS really suck$ your money, as you buy a laptop with it on the drive, then it depreciates, then the 30 day time trials all expire, and you need to BUY the virus checker, the Anti- spy and anti- malware, etc...

And, most of the laptops built for Microsoft OS are genuine crapola. Current market prices are 3 cents a pound, in bulk, for most 4+ year old 'Microsoft' laptops. Batteries are the least of your problems, as it comes into the shop for replacement of the cheap parts, drives, poorly designed parts.

I see Apple Service actually serve my customers, daily. The Service after the sale is what makes Macs a leading choice as a consumer bargain, by Consumer Reports! (Current Issue).

If you EVER have ANY question, and you call or visit any Apple tech. or any store, you will receive an accurate and immediate correct response. We even have PC owners calling us for help!

I wouldn't call Mac owners 'elitists'. I would characterize them as 'intellectuals'. Most possess knowledge on a higher level than the average American, and they expect stable and prompt service from all of their tools, appliances, and machines, including their computers.

The fact that Mac increased sales over the past year at a rate of 43% increase speaks highly about the quality, plus, the spreading common knowledge that Microsoft is so severly broken that the user has to patch it together, almost daily.

Me? I run BSD, Berkeley Software Distribution, basis for Mac OS X, and, the other 'Nix's, like Linux, Knoppix, PCLinuxOS. All are free. Run on all platforms, like Alpha, Sparc, x86, PPC.

Microsoft.com, MSN.com, and Hotmail.com all run on 45,000 Linux computer systems. Google.com runs on 100,000 Linux clustered computers.

Yahoo.com runs on FreeBSD. 78% of the Internet servers, in 165 nations, all run Linux, Unix, BSD, Mac. All movies since "TITANIC - 1997" were created, animated, rendered, or CGI in 'Nix and Mac clusters. Costs savings are about $1 million per.

Yeah, I'd purchase a Mac laptop, again, already own two. Chekc out the Refurbs, Demos, on the home page. Discounted properly, fully warranteed.

First of all Apple is a brand. But Windows is operating system which you dont have to use. Apple has gr8 potential and performance for working but theres a lot of software which doesnt support Macs. Classical x84 x64 based laptops are mostly for standard user which want most of this supported with user friendly interface. But for now theres software in development known as Bootcamp which can emulate enviroment of windows. To say the truth Macs have higher performance then PCs or even.

neither is a brand of laptop. they are both operating systems. microsoft has the bigger market share and therefore a far greater amount of software out there. apple on the hand is more secure and is fantastic on the graphic side of things so the defacto choice of web designers, photo editors, journalism or anything else which is about presentation.

Both operating systems can now run on the same computer which is only a recent development since intel chips were introduced into apple computers earlier this earlier.

Apple is a Macintosh computer, and Microsoft Windows is a PC. I have a Dell laptop that I am very happy with. However, apple computers are known to be better for graphics, though they are improving graphics on PCs.

Let me be frank. If you are asking this quesiton get a "Windows" as you put it. You are actually trying to say should I get a PC or a Mac, but if you don't know that then you will be better off with a PC (which runs windows) because it is more widely used and better for beginners who may want to send files to typical users and use popular programs etc.
