i'm doing a poster 4 health class and i'm making a collage of drunk drivers' accidents and i thought some statistics would b nice. google wasn't very good.

The answer to you question is: "How many people a year die from sober drivers". It is always the drunk drivers that take the heat whether justified or not. It really doesn't matter if a person dies due to a drunk or sober driver, does it? Dead is dead. So the answer must lie somewhere else. There are penalities for those caught DUI, but not for those who just plain can't drive safely, like someone on the cell phone or trying to read a newspaper while driving. I'm not in favor of anyone driving drunk, but on the other hand, I would like to see more accountability by "sober" drivers. They should take their share of the blame. BTW, statistics are worthless. They can and are slanted to the benefit of the statistic user. They are only 100% valid when 100% of those surveyed respond

Try googling M.A.D.D. Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. They keep statistics on everything related to drunk driving.

Just heard or read a few days ago that yearly, it's about 20,000 in the US
