I"m on my school's cross country team and 2 days ago we had a meet (2 miles) and my legs hurt so bad that they start shaking when i stand for a couple of minutes. Also I still have practice after school and my legs don't have anytime to heal because i have to run 2,3, or even 4 miles everyday and I told my coach that they hurt really bad but she said try your best. If you have any tips to stop them from hurting, please help! Thank you soooooooooooo much. they hurt really bad.

Where exactley do your legs hurt? Your problem could be anything from shin splints to potassium or calcium deficiency. Your coach doesnt sound very sympathetic. You could have a serious problem or you could just be over exerting. I would go to the school nurse or tell your parents to take you to the doctor. It is better to be safe than sorry, especially if something is seriously wrong.

Work through the pain! Work out everyday. You'll get warmed up when you run again and the soreness will diminish over time. Make sure you're nice and hydrated. Most importantly, stretch about 5-10 minutes into your workout and as a cool down after your workout.

Note: the soreness you're feeling is probably at it's peak- it peaks 48 hours after the event and declines from there. Good luck and hand in there.

Make sure you are stretching properly before you run. A slow jog and about 20 minutes of stretching is proper before getting into a long run. If your coach doesn't teach proper stretching do it on your own before practice. Products like ICY HOT might help, but they aren't the most pleasant smelling creams. A cold bath after running use to help me. You may have shin splints. See if this link explains your pain.

it incredibly is totally accepted. once you workout if your physique won't be able to aquire sufficient oxygen mandatory for the muscle communities to respire then lactic acid is produced. In destiny i might propose taking a cold bathe or tub immediately after that work out and this might help with taking away this buildup and combating that feeling afterwards. once you're work out the tiny muscle fibres are broken/torn and then reattach better, that's how muscle groups advance and strengthen in length and potential. that's merely the place you have knowledgeable and is totally accepted. merely verify you do no longer workout too no longer undemanding, if that feeling hasn't long previous after say 2 days then next time do no longer paintings out incredibly as no longer undemanding

if you take cool baths instead of hot ones, this can help, but not sure why.
Other than that, all I can say is try to rest as much as you can.
