Visit a well renowned Beauty Salon/Spa near you and they will be able to do a deep cleansing back treatment which may include body brushing, cleansing, mask treatment, toning and moisturisation. They should carry out "Body Mapping" and prescribe the correct products for your skin and recommend relevant aftercare to maximise the benefits. Also as already mentioned in a previous answer - sunlight is great. A mate of mine suffers badly with "back acne" and after a recent holiday in the sun - it had improved wonders.

Hi, try changing your diet.....eat plenty of fruit and veg.....5 portions a day is recommended. Or if you don't like fruit and veg just take vitamin suplements.

This might sound daft but if you wash your back with Fairy washing up liquid it will help.....if your skin is greasy. If it's dry try using E45 cream it's a good skin healer.

Maybe you just have sensitive skin......try using products for sensitive skin......even your washing powder and fabric conditioner could be causing the spots.

It's all worth a try, just try not to scrub at the spots as this will only agrivate the problem.

Hope some of this info helps and I hope you get it sorted soon. Good luck.

A bath brush and soap will work, but also you may need to use an exfoliant once or twice a week. Gently use it with a washcloth, and pat dry after. A good one is Neutrogena's Deep Clean which comes in a plastic container and has a pump to dispense it. It is available at any drugstore. I think they have a body wash, too.

I know they have products in the skin section at any local drug-store that helps with bacne. Scub & Brush will get rid of the dead skin cells around there and exfoliate your skin, but even that can cause irritation and cause your acne to inflammate and get worse. These products are like skin products except they're specifically designed for bacne, and they'll dry up your bacne. Also, if you're a person who sweats a lot, don't wear a lot of tight shirts because that'll cause the sweat to stick to your skin and clog your pores, which is the main cause of bacne. So I'd try those bacne products and avoid any tight shirts while sweating. Hope that helps!

A few years ago I had a spotty back, when I ran out of hair gel the spots cleared up but when I started using hair gel again, they came back and yes I was putting the gel on my hair not my back! So my advice would be to change everything you use, soap shampoo, gel etc & see if it clears up.
Tea tree oil is also fab for clearing spots. If your in UK Boots do tea tree spot gel. Also you can buy a good one in Wilkinsons.

Hi have you tried using a different shower gel or soap, i find if i use certain soaps and shower gels i get spots on my back. Try nuttogena or oxy body wash, if these irritate you use, carex for sensitive skin as it will calm your spots down and the anti bacterial should get it going. If not you could go to your doctors as he will give you some cream to put on. You need to get rid of the spots before you start scrubbing, as this will make them raised up. Try a moisturiser to, or just wash your back with warm water.

Go to a salon they will scrub/clean/remove spots for you.

Why try and do it all yourself, do not worry about how bad it is they have ALWAYS seen worse.

If you want a head start then Clinique do a spray for spotty chests/backs. (Not sure if you are in the UK or States but I have put both websites below).

Good luck

I had a problem with this to.
And the solution.......... sun beds!!

I know, seems daft, but the UV really really works.
Just once a week for 2 months and my back was completely clear.

And sunshine and fresh air helps the same, but if you are like I was, you won't want to bare your back in strappy tops in public, so get out in the garden and give a few sun beds a blast. x

I hope it works for you. I know how awful it is, not wanting to wear strappy/backless tops cause you have a few pimples.

Good luck and remember beauty comes from within, not what your skin looks like. x x x

It's not unusual to have acne on your back. Scrubbing stimulates the oil glands and makes it worse. Neutrogena makes anti acne body wash, and you can also try the same acne treatment stuff on your back that you would use on your face. If that doesn't help clear it up then see a dermatologist about it.

I had the exact same problem, but there is this great solid shower cream from Lush. It's called Lemslip and it clears up spotty skin on your body really well. And since its Lush its almost all natural.
