Its already the second week of school and my brain is completly fried.

I've been trying to think of ways to study so I reinforce my knowledge of each subject. The thing is, all these assignments keep over lapping.

How do you suggest taking some free time to review a subject, when your brain is completley done.

All I want to do is SLEEP :(

Just had a flashback to my Freshman year (1970).

I never studied in High School because I was not challenged. In college, it took me several months to learn how to study. Consequently, I did miserably my first year -- but would have graduated with honors otherwise. My point: there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The most important thing is to keep up with your reading. If you have to go to the library to keep away from distractions -- do that. If you keep up, then you won't need to cram for tests. Also -- be smart about what you study. If there is something in the book that isn't talked about at all inclass -- it probably won't be on the test.

As for the sleep -- don't be afraid to take naps & go for walks (maybe with a friend) to clear your head. You have to think of school the way you will eventually think of your job -- something that you have to spend time doing. With luck, you will enjoy it, too.

Make sure you take time for other activities -- but don't overdo things like partying.

Good luck.

From a fellow college student:

First, are you taking too heavy of a course load? If it's the second week, then it's not too late to add/drop classes. Two, find study buddies for your classes. This will help you get through the material assigned, because sometimes a peer can help explain better than the textbook. Next, get enough sleep. Yes, I have lived in a dorm. I know it's almost impossible to go to sleep before 2am most nights. But you have to get enough sleep.

I found that I learned the in-class material best by reviewing my class notes that day after I had that class. This means you actually have to take notes. One of the worst things to do are sleep in and miss class, because being in class even if you are unprepared is better than not being there at all. Another is to not do the reading. If you only have time to skim the material, then that's all you can do. But you have to at least do that much.

And I found that I can do homework better on days that I don't have the corresponding class, because I leave the class, I don't want to do anymore.

try a study group it might help take a load off of your brain by having other ppl in your field of study to help with the work load.

Red Bull give you wings!!

Whenever I'm having to read a chapter, I start to fall asleep, so I have started drinking energy drinks when that happens; that seems to do the trick for me.

Good Luck!
