when you wash dishes...and have a dish with lots of nasty food stuck on it...you hold it under the tap thats going full blast with hot water...just praying the water will wash it off so you dont have to wipe it with the sponge/cloth and then smear it on all the other dishes?

When I have dishes with nasty food stuck on it, I fill up the sink with hot soapy water and let the dishes sit in it for about half an hour then I wash the dishes. I don't like scrubbing too hard or taking longer to wash the dishes than I have to! It's easier this way and I'm out of the kitchen faster to do other things!

I usually just let it soak for awhile, then spray it with the hottest water possible. If it's really stuck on...I'll use a wooden spoon to scrape the gunk off before I go at it with a sponge.

Greasy dishes also get washed last.

I just chuck everything in the dishwasher,, food stuck on grease etc,, the worst I've ever seen is that a few small pieces remained on the offending item. The rest comes out grease and dirt free.

And I use the CHEAPEST detergent I can find too!

I do this too, only I use my sprayer, like one of the other posters. Not just because it uses less water either, I can get the sprayer nozzle right up close to the "gunk" and not get totally soaked!

Uh, no. Why don't you use a utensil to push the food into the trash or disposal and stop wasting all that hot water?

Nah, when they are that bad I soak them in hot, hot, hottest water. Drain the water and then come back and do what you do. Except I don't have to pray..because God already provided me with the hot water. :)

Seeing all the other answers I feel out of place saying that I do not do this! Perhaps I am a stickler for perfection. Never thought I'd say that about myself!!!
