Google it. Harold was an Anglo-Saxon king; there was a different feudal system for Saxons until the Normans came; so the King was one of the folk, only a leader. It is the Normans who brought chivalry and a class system; hence coats of arms later. The English however, have always had the Tudor rose ( flat rose) and the lion as their emblem for kings; the French had the fleur-de-lys, in general. This does not account for family names, though.

According to the link I've provided below, no coats of arms are known for kings of England until Henry II a century later.

William the Conqueror was of the House of Normandy, I believe.
