Maybe it was the Republican's stopping increases in fuel efficiency since 1987 that had more to do with what terrorists acts have taken place in the Middle East. If Fuel Economy had increased by 1 mile per gallon per year between 1987 & 2005; average fuel economy would be over 40 miles per gallon; US dependency on M.E. oil would be almost negligent; but Republicans ensured that fuel economy did not happen. Therefore, since the US is dependent on foreign oil; it is better to point the finger at the Republican Party that has ensured that we remain dependent on foreign oil due to their contributions received from the major oil and auto corporations. Whom is then a bigger traitor to the country; those with the most that screw the rest of us or an ex President whom balanced the budget for 4 straight years and started paying down the national debt v ersus a President and party that have taken that debt and more than doubled it to over 8 TRILLION dollars. In my book, the Republican Party has done more damage to the fabric of this nation than anything Monica and Bill had done. If Bill could do it all over again, let him have Monica, we would be in far better shape today because of his leadership.
