"I used to hide in a party crowd, bottled up inside, feeling so left out.
Standing in a corner wearing concrete shoes; With my frozen smile
and my lighted fuse." (Happy Girl,Martina McBride)

Absolutely, it does! I was always shy as a child and my ex used to be involved in politics and had tons of events we had to go to. Then, he'd leave me alone while he "worked the crowd". I hated it. I barely knew a soul in his hometown and I stood there feeling like an idiot. I've come out of my shell somewhat since our divorce...I think his personality just overshadowed mine so I stood back and let him shine. But I still feel uncomfortable in social situations with large crowds where I don't know anyone. Makes me feel somewhat better to know that Martina (or whoever wrote that song) knows what it feels like!

I'm kinda shy at first, but once I get going, I don't stop. I'm a really open person. Life is too short not to enjoy it. I try to have a good time no matter what. Hiding my emotions has never really been an issue for me. I have a natural smile that people say is infectious. My brown eyes are the gateway to my soul. It's never hard to see where I'm going from....or going to!!
