Picking on words. What is meant by safe? What circumstances surround intercourse? Normally it is safe if you are referring to life and well-being. Throw in disease and the risk goes up. If you are referring to pregnancy, then the risk is always there. You can ovulate any time during your cycle. That means that you can become pregnant any time during your cycle. Always use a condom or some other "reliable" form of birth control. The more regular your period is, then the more reliable the rhythm method. Just remember that the rhythm method is based upon history and not current information. Your period could have a history of regularity, but this month it isn't and this is the month you became pregnant.

Withdrawal is not an effective form of birth control. I'm so surprised that people still try to use this method! And about 10 days after menstruation you are likely to be ovulating. How old are you? Maybe you shouldn't be having sex. If you think you have to have sex then you should get on the pill or patch to prevent pregnancy, and use a condom as backup and so you don't get an STD.

Remember - while this may reduce your chances of pregnancy, sperm can live in the uterus for almost a week. Also, not using a condom opens you up to a wide range of infections and other transmitted conditions. Please consider using a condom. I see that you are using one at some times, so just buy some more and use one all the time!
