If you wanted to describe them as a whole, I like the word motley, or maybe melting pot. Everyone is headed to a different destination to live a different life, but for these 15 or so minutes they're all united on a bus. Prismatic is a pretty-sounding word for the same idea.

evil-smelling, fetid, foul, foul-smelling, funky, high, malodorous, mephitic, noisome, olid, putrid, rancid, rank, reeking, smelly, stinking, stinko, stinky, strong, strong-smelling, whiffy
