The Philistine woman named Delilah was Samson's lover. She tricked him into telling her the secret of his strength, which was that he was never to cut his hair. She sold him out to the Philistines, who came and cut his hair while he slept on her lap.
They then captured him, blinded him, and put him to work like an ox, grinding a mill. In the end his hair grew back, and they brought him out for everyone to laugh at him at a big arena.
He asked if he could rest his hands on two pillars and they helped him do it (because they couldn't see), but they never thought about his hair re=growing. He prayed to God for strength, knocked over the pillars, brought down the house, so to speak, and died with his enemies.

A Philistine man
In Judges 16:
18 When Delilah saw that he had told her everything, she sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, "Come back once more; he has told me everything." So the rulers of the Philistines returned with the silver in their hands. 19 Having put him to sleep on her lap, she called a man to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him. And his strength left him.

Delilah was approached by the Philistines, the enemies of Israel, to discover the secret of Samson's strength. Three times she asked Samson for the secret of his strength and three times he gave her a false answer. On the fourth occasion he gave her the true reason (that he did not cut his hair in fulfillment of a vow to God) and Delilah betrayed him to his enemies. She calls for a servant to shave Samson's seven locks and Samson lost his strength and was captured by the Philistines
