No it's not crazy, just because some puerto ricans speak spanish doesn't mean you have to or like to.

Not really, I know a lot of Puerto Ricans that don't like to speak Spanish, some don't so not to offend other people that might not understand, others don't because they want to hide the fact that they are from P.R. and other just don't like to speak it because they don't know it well.
So it is not crazy, I myself say, you in U.S.A. speak English, but when I am with family and friends, you would think I am from the mountains in P.R.

Forgot one thing, in the workplace I used to earn 1.50 to 2.00 @ hour more because I Iam bilingual.

No, it's not crazy, because you are an AMERICAN. American's speak American, not even english.
If you were a from an NON-US country, then you at least KNOW it's official/native tongue.
Now, for the real answer:
Besides, speak whatever language you know and use most frequently. I speak five languages, learned English second (when I was four, no less) and I still speak English primarily. If you don't want to speak Spanish, don't. Your family or friends may not like it, but that's what freedom of choice and speech is all about.

No, I actually know some people who are Puerto Rican that CAN'T speak Spanish....just the dirty words and basic sentences.
