I got home today and noticed smoke coming from my right front tire well. I don't know what to look for or what it could be caused from.

Is it safe to drive until I can work on it or what?

Have your vehicle inspected by a qualified professional.
Smoke is definitely not normal.
Is it safe? What do you think?

I would not drive it unless absolutely necessary. Find problem and fix. Could be wheel bearing or brake show binding, or possibly, something from engine or radiator hose, like steam, but that is unlikely. Any of these require immediate attention, and make the car unsafe and unreliable to drive, and will only lead to a more expensive repair. Act now.

not safe you could lose control of your ability to steer and hit someone head-on. identify the smell - brakes? oil? rubber? check for tire damage also on the inside of the tire. Feel around the wheel to locate some hot spots. Keep the number for the wrecker service in the car because you WILL be stranded

Your brake caliper has binded to the rotor which generates heat and smoke. Get the caliper replaced NOW.

Sounds like your caliper is locking up. This needs to be fixed right away or you'll destroy your brake rotor. This also wastes gas.
