Just looking for some fellow synesthesiacs - I do, you see. Incidently, I also see pain and nausea as colours and shapes. Does anybody else do that?

I have perfect pitch, but was never taught it. I have always seen different notes in colours. I thought everybody did until my Dad laughed at me! I'm going to music college, so that may have something to do with it!

I often get confused as well. I see six as yellow, so will often refer to things as the colour six! And things have different shapes as well, but I can't describe them. I remember everything in colours - names, phone numbers! For me, pain can be blue, red or dark green, and nausea is all kinds of colours - it is often very psychadelic.

Very interesting!
Yes, sometimes I do as well. For example: I see 1 as L, 3 as E, 4 as f, 5 as S........I see b as something but can't remember what it is at the moment. Pain is red. Nausea is yellow.

In my opinion, I believe it is because the numbers represent keys on the keyboard and also the shape they are like. Pain is always associated with red due to hurt. Nausea is yellow because of sickness related. Just my thoughts.

When musicians learn "perfect pitch" recognition, they're taught to "hear" the music in colors. You must have a good ear.

Wow..that would be so cool. You could make some amazing paintings out of that. I read a book about a girl that had that once...I guess it was kinda distracting at times for her...

I read a book about that, it's called a Mango Shaped Space. If you haven't read it, you should, it's pretty good.
