Would you prefer to hook up with someone at a young age, and love them for the REST of your life (forever) and only be with that one person, or would you rather choose to find true love at an older age after you've already been in lots of relationships? PLEASE EXPLAIN :)

I doubt many people get what they may *want" with regard to relationships; mostly they seem to roll with the punches. I got married young (18) and thought it would be forever. But I was wrong. And when it was finally over I indulged in more than my fair share of misogyny and behaving like a prize s**t.

Talk about making up for lost time!

I caught myself going through mates like tomorrow was the end of the world. And frankly, my behaviour was appalling. And then I suppose I just calmed down.

I don't honestly believe in that whole true love thing. I doubt I ever will. Maybe because I'm too old and too jaded now, and far too cynical after a lifetime of just making do and getting by, and trading the things I really wanted in to pay for the duties I had to shoulder.

But I have found more contentment with this one that I ever thought could be possible.

And I can live more than happily with contentment; that is enough for me.

This is a good question. But I think of the two I would prefer meeting someone and loving them at a young age for the rest of my life nstead of experiencing possibly crap relationships. But I think that if you had been through more relationships you would value the person you love a lot more than a person who had met someone at a young age. It's the whole grateful and disbelief factor that is greater for the older aged relationships. Either way, it works out for both groups of people in the end.

I don't think it matters. "It's better to have loved and lost than never love at all"
Just LOVE! someone who matters some one to hold and care about and who cares for you. If you get hurt dust off and try again! I think either way the people who are happy will think their way's best and the unhappy couples will think they made a mistake and should have done it the other way around. What people fail to see is LOVE has no age, no rules; but it can hurt sometimes. All though it's beautiful and magical it also takes work and compromise.
So far the first method has worked for me; but if she ever gives up,(cause I wouldn't) I'll move on to the second method. I've found true love, or it found me. Either way love is better than apathy.

I don't think anyone actually knows what "true love" is until they've gotten older. The young ones may think they know, but most are just in love with the IDEA of being in love.

So, to answer your question, I choose the latter.

An older age,,because then you are more sure of what true love is & what you want from a relationship. When you are young,,you can easily out grow this person as you are both still growing & may grow in different directions.

at a younger age, it tends to be stronger and shorter-lived.

at an older age, it tends to be less intense, but longer lasting.
