I was having raw oysters and I was pretty excited about it. I gulped the first one so quick that I choked a bit and pieces of ginger went up my nose. My eyes teared up, I was coughing and choking and I had to blow my nose at the table. Really gross. I'm crushed, but it is my favorite sushi bar as well as a great place for oysters. Is it okay to go back?

Yes you can go back, unless the sushi guy is like the soup Nazi off of Seinfeld. You didn't offend the sushi guy did you? Just teasing, go back it sounds like you really like this place and probably no one at the restaurant will remember.

If it is your favorite place I would not think twice about going back. Who cares, embarrassing stuff happens to everyone. I am sure they have seen worse, and if not who cares. Don't let what people think effect you so much that you would deny yourself your favorite place to eat. I could tell you some doosies I have done. Just laugh it off and bon appetite!

Sure you can. If everybody that coughed or had to blow their nose in a restaurant didn't return the restaurants would be empty.

I'm sure the people that work there have seen worse.its just like in school you do something stupid and everyone talks about all week by the next week there laughing at someone else.id go back

People who own or work in restaurants need and want your continued business. psxfff123 has it right! Who HASN'T done something 'improper'?
Forget about the small incident - I'm sure they're not going to remember, whisper and point when you return. Forget about it and enjoy!

yes you can go back, everyone blows the nose. and everyone has choked on food or a drink before. just laugh about it and go back.

I would feel the same way! However, embarasing moment and all, I would go back and just act as though nothing had ever happened. (I would at least imagine that my dignity was intact, that way!) It's ok, we have all had embarassing moments like that.
