Mario's (closed for many years... in Richmond, Virginia) and Italian Kitchen (also in Richmond.)

Mario's was a little place next to Douglas Freeman High School and I don't know how he stayed in business at all - lol We would go in and he would give us "tastes" of his new dishes... but a taste was a small bowl! I remember the day he gave us a "taste" of his new rigatoni with sausage... and we were so stuffed that most of our dinner came home in a box :)

Italian Kitchen was larger and not quite so personal... but still very tasty food, served family style if you wanted... yum!

There is no higher honor bestowed upon a restaurant than to be inducted into the Restaurant Associations' Hospitality Hall of Honor. Da Mimmo joined this illustrious group after creating the complete dining experience for its guests for more than two decades. It serves top notch Italian food in Baltimore's Little Italy.

Rome, Italy...Haven't tried Pro's Pizza but it probably wouldn't measure up to the pizza I've had in Rome with my friend from Naples. After real Naples' pizza, there's no substitute.
