i have a 56" out door ceiling fan that runs cw/ccw with a dimmer type switch 5 speeds up cw 5 speeds down ccw the switch only has 2 wires to it and i can only get it to run cw how can i get it to reverse like it should?

I've never see a separate fan control (dimmer implies a light) that can control the fan direction and can't see how it could be done with only 2 wires. You also don't change direction that often so it doesn't seem like a useful function. Most if not all ceiling fans have a switch to control the direction.

You not taking to fact that it has a switch on the fan to reverse it.. Only two wire to hook it up, Black and white.
