I don't have really bad acne but i get breakouts every now and then. i just started using it and i find its actually giving me more pimples! At first it made my skin really greasy (i don't wear any makeup) and now its really dry and i'm not breaking out but i am still getting pimples. has this happened to anyone else? or anyone who has used it, how has it worked for you??

My step daughter used it and it really worked for her but I have found the best thing to use to clear up acne is regular Dial soap (the gold bar). It has worked for me for years!

It totally works. I have the worlds worst skin. I'm 35 and I still had the same terrible acne and redness, blotchiness I had as a teen. I broke down and bought the Proactiv system, and I'll never be without it again. My skin was looking remarkably better in less than a week! No kidding. The only drawback is that you have to use the system morning and night, which was hard for me and my lazy butt at first. But after I saw the results, I was all too eager to take the time. You'll be happy you tried it. Also, may I recommend MAC Studio Fix for your foundation/powder makeup. It's spendy, but you'll have beautiful skin in no time with these two purchases. Good luck!

I've used ProActive and the same thing happened to me, I stopped using it and the thing that did work for me was "L'Oreal's PureZone" the active ingredient in it is Salycic Acid which drys out the pimples and stops your skin from breaking out. Trust me after about a month of using it, I don't get break outs anymore. You probably have sensitive skin, trust me use the L'Oreal product and you'll see a change almost instantly.

i got my proactiv about 3 weeks ago, and my skin is doing pretty good, i mean , i still get pimples, but not as much as i used to get. im waiting til i use up this shipment so i can get more, i probably won't use proactiv anymore, i'll get the exfoliator, toner, and blemish treatments from neutrogena because they're more popular...o just so u know, there isn't any way to cure pimples so u'll still have pimples, but not as much because if u keep cleansing ur face and MOISTURIZING IT then ur skin should be absolutely great =]

same thing for me as "italia soccer" -- i used it and it worked for a couple of months, and then just stopped. in addition, it darkened my skin in the areas i used it, and that discoloration has never gone away (it's been about 5 or 6 years).

i myself don't have terrible acne either -- just mild, and only on my chin, but definitely persistent. what i use right now is Apple Cider Vinegar http://makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemID=52238/Bragg's_Apple_Cider_Vinegar/Unlisted_Brand/Toners/
it's really amazing stuff, and will make your skin glow, too. seriously click on that link... so many people give it rave reviews, b/c it totally works. plus it's natural, and isn't made by some company trying to rip you off and get you to buy more overpriced products.

good luck, girl!

I use proactive and it works so great! If you only have slight breakouts then it will do magic for you! My acne was worse then just breakouts. It can get pretty pricey though so you might want to try something lighter like Noxema or Aveeno or something.

Proactive may work for Jessica Simpson but it wont work for everyone. Try the Neutrogena fresh foaming face wash and Diffrin and in about a week all your acne will be gone.

I always have trouble skin. But since I started on Proactive, my acne is under control.
The only down side is that, if you stop using. Your face starts to brake out again.

yes, i use it. my skin has improved A LOT since i started using it, even though I'm not as persistent as i should be. however, everyone is different. you might have sensitive skin. another thing that i really liked was St.Ives Apricot Scrub cream cleansers for acne. it exfoliates, but is mild enough for sensitive skin.

I tried proactive and the same exact thing happened. My face actually started peeling and became really red and raw.
