Well I've read books and articles about him, as well as books written about other jazz artists during his time that included antidotes about Charlie - and it does indeed seem to have been an accurate depiction. You know Clint Eastwood was the director of that film and a great jazz fan and jazz musician himself (truly talented writer and pianist) and I'm certain that he would have tried to have directed that film to give the closest and most honest depiction possible. For a great listen - catch the soundtrack to Million Dollar Baby - that's Eastwood who scored it.
I love Charlie Parker...and all the old great Jazz artists, as well as many of the more contemporary ones of today.
"Bird" was a great film. Beautifully acted as well.
