Its a really quick pain. Nothing to be scared of. Do get it down with a reputable jewellers though because the last thing you want is for it to go infected. THAT HURTS!!!

If done on the ear-lobe than not really. It's more like a tingly itchy feeling and a pinch to the the ear. Most of the ear should feel the same way. Rub alcohol on the ear before the piercing and go to the place where they use the gun that pierces with the earring directly to the ear. I'm not sure how it feels piercing the ear with a needle. If you do it that way yourself or a associate with little experience, make sure to put a lot of ice to numb it and a clean new needle. I don't recommend this way.

If anything it's a quick pinch and a sting. Lobes are easy. Just get them done at a tattoo/piercing place. Don't go to the mall/walmart/jc pennyes... whatever... the guns they use ARE NOT sterile, they are pushing a piece of dull metal through your ears, the earring posts rarely give enough room for swelling and the metal they use is crap.

A LOT of people have it done that way, and the results are fine, but it's just a lot safer/sterile to have it done by a professional piercer.

Nope. It's just a little pinch, if you feel it at all.

Either go to a *very* reputable jeweller, or go to a nice piercing/tattoo parlour. Places that pierce and tattoo or pierce exclusively use hollow needles to pierce, instead of guns. The holes heal more quickly, and the needles don't damage the flesh surrounding the hole like piercing guns do when they ram the earring through.

I had mine done at 5 years old-and now have 3 lobe peircings and a cartalage one. The lobes just pinch and it goes away. The cartilage doesn't hurt to much either-just leaves it tender for about a day or so. I got my daughters done at about 4 months old-if it really hurt I wouldn't have put a baby through it. She was fine when I picked her up.

Piercing the ears isn't really all that bad at all!! If you plan on having it done, DON'T LET ANYONE DO IT WITH A GUN!!!! EAR PIERCING GUNS CANNOT BE FULLY STERILIZED!!! It costs more to have them done professionally, but it's well worth it when you consider the potential health risks of a non-sterile gun...and just so you know, alcohol DOES NOT STERILIZE!!

It depends on if you're getting the lobe or cartilage done. Neither hurt too bad but the cartilage is worse. It's a quick pain. Go for it.

Nope, as a matter of fact, most people don't even feel it. Just a warm tingly sensation after wards. Trust me, the end result pays off.
