Holding the bottle containing chemicals with the label towards your palm while pouring prevents possible drips, which may be corrosive, from destroying the label thus leaving the contents unrecognisable. A bottle of chemicals with a label which cannot be read could be misused and extremely dangerous.

So if it drips down the side of the bottle it won't damage the label.

so when the last of the pour drips down the side it dosent run down the lable. your contents could have a reaction to the lable. Then you would have a reaction in your hand.
