Go to a beauty supply store like Sally Beauty, they sell a cleaner specially made for getting hair dye off of skin, clothes and even carpet.

Your only hope is to get some hair colour remover from the beauty supply. Until you do, spray it with hair spray.
Good luck.

Oh no! I dont think you can do to be honest. What type of carpet is it? If its a thick shag pile, pardon the phrase, you might be able to cut the bits of pile out, and refit them from somewhere you cant notice. I say this as i once had to claim on my contents insurance for something similar, and the chap the insurance company sent out did exactly this. Whoops, Good luck.

what color carpet what color dye? You can try peroxide or that stuff they sell to strip unwanted color out of your hair but most likely you are looking at is replacing that part of the rug or a throw rug to cover up the spot.

try wetting it and putting washing powder on and leave it on for while. washing powder gets dark brown dye out of my towels! and also sweet and sour sauce out of carpets! Good luck
