The afterlife is a fictitious place filled with imaginary wonders that already exist here on earth. People don't appreciate the god-given wonders of this planet we call home. They believe that the green trees, blue sky, vast oceans, loving friends and family aren't enough. People that dream of an afterlife want more because they are greedy, unappreciative, and unsatisfied with the gifts that nature has already bestowed upon us.

Everyone has anxiety and fears about dieing, but why would you want to take a "Chance", to go onto the Afterlife is a Reward, and a privilege for how we lived here on Earth, so you are not wasting any time living, you are wasting your energy worrying about something that is a gift for you at the end of your journey.
Have you tried meditation, and you might want to go speak with someone that you trust, experience all that you can now that you are alive, and share all your wonderful experiences with others, you may have something that others will learn from here and now.
Try to relax and enjoy where you are and stay focused on what you are contributing to this world, which is being YOU!
Take Care.

Transition of a plant into a seed could show the difference. A dead seed is planted and it grows into a plant when having the right condition; it produces fruits and seeds.
In the process, the fruits get used by the birds, animals and people. The remaining seeds could or could not sprout depending on the "condition."
Afterlife could not be too different from this life. It's like a seed wanting to become a plant. Or an egg becoming a silkworm and then a moth. It will look different in different stages. What we put into it now will be carried over to the next one.

Well it comes down to what you are willing to believe. Some people claim to see "spirits that move amongst us".
But as far as dying, you can't die.
Your body most definitely will stop functioning.
But your body is not who YOU are!
Ever listen to older folks who talk about looking in the mirror and not recognizing the face staring back at them. Because that face isn't who they are it is the body that they currently are inhabiting!
That thing that we are is the conscienceness that resides inside our brains (mostly). But most importantly it is an ENERGY! And the first law of Physics is you CAN NOT DESTROY ENERGY. And that energy changes form. There you have it. You can not, nor will not die.
You will change your energy form to the next state.
And to address "Why waste time living,..." I agree to a point. Don't waste your life, LIVE your life! Life here as we know it is a time to experience everything you can. Learn new things feel everything that your 5 senses can bring you. Because although your energy can not be destroyed, we have no idea what the next form will entail. What we will or will not be able to do, feel, experience, or know. I believe that we will take our knowledge, thoughts, feelings and experiences that we've had here with us, God I hope so! But don't wish to hurry yourself to the next form, you might enjoy it less!

You are here to learn lessons, to grow. Experience things you cannot experience in your spirit body.
When we die, we become a different energy which is why you cannot the departed right now. Some people die and have after death experiences and some don't. Reasons could be the trauma and the medication keep people from remembering, or some people just should not know for sure there is a life after death, as they will relax and stop growing.
Relax, stay alert, keep a safe following distance, and you should be fine.

This is a poem from Kavafis, a Greek poet. Ithaca was the homeland of Odyssey and his final destination. It represents goals in life but it could also represent the end of it.There are so many things you can see and do before you reach it.
Ithaca
When you set out on your journey to Ithaca,
pray that the road is long,
full of adventure, full of knowledge.
The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,
the angry Poseidon -- do not fear them:
You will never find such as these on your path,
if your thoughts remain lofty, if a fine
emotion touches your spirit and your body.
The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,
the fierce Poseidon you will never encounter,
if you do not carry them within your soul,
if your soul does not set them up before you.
Pray that the road is long.
That the summer mornings are many, when,
with such pleasure, with such joy
you will enter ports seen for the first time;
stop at Phoenician markets,
and purchase fine merchandise,
mother-of-pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
and sensual perfumes of all kinds,
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
visit many Egyptian cities,
to learn and learn from scholars.
Always keep Ithaca in your mind.
To arrive there is your ultimate goal.
But do not hurry the voyage at all.
It is better to let it last for many years;
and to anchor at the island when you are old,
rich with all you have gained on the way,
not expecting that Ithaca will offer you riches.
Ithaca has given you the beautiful voyage.
Without her you would have never set out on the road.
She has nothing more to give you.
And if you find her poor, Ithaca has not deceived you.
Wise as you have become, with so much experience,
you must already have understood what Ithacas mean.
Constantine P. Cavafy (1911)

Without evidence, its just fanciful thinking. We all would love to believe that when we die
we will live again, that some thinking,
feeling, remembering part of us will continue.
But as much as we want to believe that and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking

You should not be worrying about the after life. Just concentrate on the life you are living now and make it the best that you can. Then when it is your time you will know what the after life is like. Be HAPPY for now that you have a chance to make your life and others better. Think about it.

Depending on what you believe... I know some religions believe those who end their lives go to hell... not the afterlife you're probably hoping for.
Anyway, you'll get there eventually. So just relax and enjoy the ride.

Pay attention to the road, or you will discover the truth of the afterlife sooner than expected. But please don't run into me. I have no idea what the afterlife will be, even if there is one or not? I'd rather find out what else is in this life first.
