yes insurance usually covers it. not an expensive test by any means. He goes to a urologist. They also do vasectomies for future reference :)

You would go to a urologist or fertility specialist. Your insurance may or may not cover based on whether or not you have fertility coverage. If the doctor can show the sperm test is otherwise related to your health, it might cover. Best would be to contact your insurance company. They can tell you what your specific coverages your policy contains.

A Urologist if that is spelled right.... Most insurance do cover them but you might have to have a referral check before you make the appointment.

My husband just went to the lab at the local hosp. I believe that we had a order from my ob/gyn but call the local hospital to find out. We had a time that we didn't have insurance for 1-2months but it only cost $15 and we knew the results by that night.

My husband had that done...and he did not go to a doctor about that. He had to go to a lab, and because it wasn't health related, the insurance didn't cover it. If you can say somehow that his health depends on that test...not sure what excuse the GP would give for that, but if the gp would say that, then it could be covered by insurance. (GP = general practitioner)

They need to see a Urologist. But, you need to check with your insurance to find out if they cover infertility. Everyone's insurance is different.

I have been seeing a fertility speacialist and he did my husband's semen analysis test. My husband's insurance did not cover the expenses, just depends on your insurance company. It only cost $75.00 though. Good Luck!

a general practioner should be able to do it, but believe it or not, most gynocologists offices are equipped to do it, because they do the artificial insemination - As for insurance coverage, it will vary by plan- even with the same insurance company, different plans offer different coverage. good luck.

Your Dr sends you to a lab. They do the testing. You can get a cup from your Dr, and do what you need to at home...check the times with your lab,and you only have a certain amount of time to get it there.
