What do you dress up as? I always thought Halloween was about dressing up scary to confuse the evil spirits.

Ummm... it's only a holiday... why are you calling people bloody daft gits for having fun and dressing how they want? Some people can't afford much more than a ten dollar store bought one, corsets aren't very easy to come by cheaply. And actually it was meant for dressing up as monsters and stuff, it's part of the All Hallows Eve spirits are coming and stuff... Not actually for dressing up as different time, but now we can dress up as whatever we want. And you can call people bloody daft gits all you want. That doesn't mean people will change how they dress up for Halloween...

Actually the tradition of dressing up at Halloween, then called "Hallows Eve", began when Celts would dress as the opposite gender. It had nothing to do with monsters and scary things of the night.
The idea of Dracula, Werewolves, and monsters as costumes was perpetuated by the profiteers of the sales industry.

Have you ever seen a gay American Halloween parade? Maybe I am homophobic for saying this, but if you want to see "all that is nasty in the night" get over to Christopher Street, Castro Street, or any other rainbow decked alleyway on 10/31.
Living in the 'burbs now, I am just sick of seeing 12 year old girls coming to my door dressed like hookers and fetish models. Thanks MTV, for ruining another generation of young Americans.

Well if someone is "supposed" to dress a certain way for halloween then whats the point? The point of the whole thing is to have fun and use your imagination its a thing called free will? Ever heard of it?

It's just a night for fun, let it be. If someone wants to dress up like silly items let them. As for me the scarier the better, but that's not for everybody.

Halloween is the one night of the year that grown-ups can dress up as any fantasy they want and have their persona excepted.

ok, first of all, you really need to get a life! you don't need to be telling people what we can/can't be dressing up for halloween!!!!! You should be spending your time on here giving people advise on other questions!!!! I mean, you don't have to, but it's what i think you should do... : )
