Yes you can. I do it every month. I have credit cards with MBNA and they have a BillPay service that is pretty great. I have several mortgages and I pay them all with credit cards every month. I setup the auto-pay feature in the BillPay website for MBNA credit cards and they are paid every month on-time. It is VERY convenient.

You may not be able to accrue points/rewards to the card, because (read the fine print) some points programs don't award points for things that "look like" cash transactions or transfers; don't ask me what that means exactly, but I think it has something with how the banks process those types of transactions behind the scenes.

I use the credit card autopayment b/c it gives my money 30 extra days of earning interest before I have to write a check to pay for the mortgages.

You probably can do it with a card that allows that much debt, for example try Capital One, get a credit limit over the mortgage payment, pay both on time each month, set up a debit each month or call it in each month with your lending institution

I don't think so. I thought about that so I called my mortgage company. They told me that I cannot use a "debt" - credit card to pay for another "debt" - mortgage.

My mortgage company sucks!

I'm sure you can set up automatic payments with your mortgage company and use your credit/debit card and the payment method. Give them a call.

Maybe you can if your mortage company has online bill pay capabilities.
Hopefully, it isn't like the student loan folk: You can pay online, but only by check.
