Go to Explorer windows under Tools, then click on Internet Options. On the General Tab, click on "delete cookies" and "delete history". Your set.

But that wont help you if you searched it with your employer's computer, specially if you searched for porn.

But seriously.. who asks about deleting searchs like "water bottle" ?

Have a close look at the icons on the tool bar. Can you see a small black upside down triangle at the side of every icon, well if you click on it a drop down menu will appear with all sorts of things on it.
The one you want is on the left of the search box. look for options and personalize your tool bar.
you can also highlight the search and press delete on your keyboard.

Yes, when you have "water" anything show up, use the down arrow to highlight the one you want to delete. Then hit the delete button, not the backspace.

Deleting your history will not delete previous searches.

Click on 'Tools' at the top of the screen and then under "Internet Options' delete 'cookies' 'files' and 'history' and that should take care of it.
