Suppose for a minute that everyone on earth was homosexual. All the girls would be lesbians and all the guys would be gay. Ignore the fact that reproduction would be impossible (let’s just pretend humans reproduced some other way). Now, with this setup, do you think the people who were heterosexual would be discriminated against like the homosexual people are by others today?

Everyone on earth would be homosexual, except the few who “chose” or “where born” the opposite. So, would the same logic of being “wrong” or “unnatural” still apply? *Now just to appease your curiosity, no I am not gay nor do I have any problems with homosexuality – just a weird question that popped in my mind. Therefore, I want to know what you think...

That is an interesting question, You could phrase it this way...

If the majority of people said homosexuality is right then would it be?

Are Humans the ones who should set the ulitimate standards of right and wrong? if so then the answer would be yes.

If however God decides what is right and wrong, then it doesn't matter how many people say homosexuality is right, it would still be condemned by him.

Hmm, exciting question. My first instinct may well be to declare "confident", because of the fact the first individual who does decide others and/or discriminate many times does so in accordance with what they are unfamiliar with. besides the fact that. There are the christians who think of homosexuality is incorrect because of the fact they have interpreted a definite e book in a fashion that they experience it tells them to think of it is incorrect. So, if there continues to be this e book around, then there may well be an exceedingly small team of christian heterosexuals who might run around chastising notably much anybody they see. Heh.

You can't really ignore the reproduction question, since part of the argument against homosexuality (or in your test case heterosexuality) is based on "natural law", i.e. the idea that we can understand what is right by understanding how the world works. So basically all sexual animals (including humans) reproduce by heterosexual means, which points out there is something wrong with homosexual relations.

If in your test world, all sexual animals reproduced homosexually, (i.e. not just humans), then yes, heterosexuality would be wrong. If just humans were homosexual (and say reproduced only by test-tube babies a la "Brave New World") then homosexuality would still be wrong by natural law arguments.

If homosexuality was the accepted "norm" from the very beginning of time, then yes, heterosexuals (the minority) would be discriminated against. Unfortunately, we as humans have a bad habit of discriminating against those people and things we cannot fully grasp, comprehend, or relate to.

I really wish I could remember the name or author, but i once read a short story about a woman who was in the military. In this story, soldiers often went into long recuperative comas in order to heal wounds etc. This woman was in a coma for a long time, and when she awoke she found that within the military of the future, same sex relationships were encouraged and opposite sex relationships were thought of as abberant, not something to hate but just something quaint and old fashioned. She wound up having a same sex relationship herself, but I thought it was an interesting premise.

It depends on what many middle-eastern beleifs, namely islam, christianity, and judism, have to say about it. In our realy world, homosexual interest/activity wasn''t looked down in western society until the spread of these religions. If we were to throw out this religious aspect, then they'd both be considered about equal. I'm sure there would still be poeple saying their way was better of course, but then again we're all still human.

I would think so- as far as social patterns go something so "different" would be hard for some to swallow. The reproduction thing is huge though, because that is one of the roots of thinking that homosexuality is wierd or wrong. Method of reproduction would give us a better idea though.

Yes. Society works on the laws of majority opinion rules. If same sex relationships were the norm, hetros would be the outcasts.

I think that if everyone was homosexual, then heterosexuality would be a taboo. It's ok to think about these things. Don't worry about it so much.
