I'm in college and my major is business administration. I'm not sure if I should have my concentration in human resources or marketing. What do you think is the beter field to go into?

Depends on which one interests you the most.

On "Money" wise, you should choose marketing, coz marketing and sales normally get paid way better than HR.

The choice really depends on what you consider "better."

If your idea of better is have more money, then Human Resources. They pay more than marketing but require a little more "work" to be done. You would be taking care of numbers pretty much.

If your idea of better is enjoying your job, then Marketing. People who major in marketing can usually get a job working for a company helping them advertise and sell their projects. Here, you'd be coming up with ideas that attract people.

It really depends on what you value the most. Personally, I'd rather enjoy my career with money than hate my career but have just a little more money. =)

Can you get something more specialized, both choices are vague and general and I know its relatively hard to get entry level jobs in this areas. In addition the pays usually suck for a long time until you get to mid career level.
If you had to choose between the two, it will probably be Marketing. You have way more career choices, but you should specialize in a specific marketing field ( Pricing, PR, Product development, Advertising, Research etc)

Marketing.

HR is a field increasingly concentrated as firms outsource those functions to specialists. But marketing has much more application, since we don't actually make anything in the US anymore, but we need people to sell the stuff we do import.

Definitely marketing. The jobs are generally hard to find and lower paying in HR. Sales jobs are very easy to find and if you are really good at it then the sky is the limit on your earnings. Other areas of marketin like advertising, promotions etc are harder to find but do exist and a sales position would get your foot in the door along those avenues too.

Marketing is where the money is (yes, I meant that pun). But if you are more interested in HR, then that's where you should go.

By your question, I'd guess you're a bottom line kind of guy/gal. Marketing is very bottom line oriented.

Aside to Kel K. "Girl"? You have a "Girl" with a master's degree? Not PC. If you are in HR, you should know better.

As an HR professional I would have to say Marketing. It's almost impossible these days to get in the door for an entry level HR position. We have a girl at my company that just got her masters with HR focus and still works in our call center.

Letting my personal feeling totally get in the way...

I have contempt for HR people, so go with Marketing.
