Yes, was not founded by Hitler, it was a program initiated by Hitler in the thirties that coincided with the construction of the Autobahn in Germany. Hitler envisioned everyone in germany owning an automobile, then that pesky war started.
Porshe was the founder of volkswagon. Volkswagon was a signifigant in Germany recovering from the war throughout most of the fifties and sixties Volkswagon was the largest employer in west germany.

Yes. Did you know the "Bug" was designed by Ferdinand Porsche of Porsche motor cars? It also used a surplus 28hp aircraft engine. The idea(order from Hitler) was to have an affordable car which everyone could afford...thus the name. It was a big part of Hitler's rebuilding of Germany during the depression as was the building of the Autobahn.
