As far as winners and losers, you mean? It's because, regardless how well a given team did LAST season, or the past ten seasons, there are changes that can't be accounted for by any statistical analysis. Even if the same teams with the same players played every year, with no new recruits or trades, they might make different decisions in each game, or maybe somebody just has a bad day. Different people are disabled at one point or another in a given season, changing the dynamic of a team (if they're important players). And let's not forget that we're talking about living, breathing people -- every single player is getting older, year by year, and that can change their physical abilities. Environmental conditions, the condition of the astroturf, maybe even the length of the flight to get the team to the game could affect how well they play, and even the best teams lose occasionally because of intangibles that combine to work against them, regardless of how well they train or how focused they are on the prize.

due to the skill level of all NFL players and the fact that sometimes people feel better than at other times it only take a few flat people on one team to change the end and final score of the game. The talent level of all these players is around or on par with each other with the exceptions.Any bad break or questionable call can change the flow of the game. momentum also factors in do the players themselves thinking about that pass they just dropped or that tackle they just missed. I'm not that good at putting words to my thoughts so i hope that this will help you

1. The salary cap makes all the teams feature similar talent levels.
2. All the free agency between seasons leaves teams not knowing exactally what they have talent-wise from season to season.
3. All 32 teams are vying for 1 thing, the Super Bowl trophy.

Free Agency and Salary Caps. There is no more loyalty to any teams or very little loyalty. Its a business, Owners and Players treat it as such.

It's all about T.O.....no not Terrel Owens...TURNOVERS...Indy would score a million points in every game if defenses couldn't cause turnovers and pressure..that's what it's all about.
