Moses showed up God when the people were thristy and God told Moses he wouldn't see the Promised Land.

Aaron made the Golden Calf and that was the reason he never entered the Promised Land.

At one point during the Exodus journey, when the people were complaining about a lack of water, The Lord God told Moses to speak to a rock and water would gush forth and the people could drink. But Moses was angry with the people and disobeyed God and struck the rock fiercely and in anger. The water came out, but in doing it the way he did, Moses dishonored God in front of the people. His disobedience in this was the reason that God would not let go into the Promised Land, although God let him see it before Moses died and God took him to be with Himself. For God still loved Moses and loves him still.

The previous answers are all incorrect. According to the Old Testament, Moses took credit for water coming from the rock and as his punishment he was not allowed into the promised, but instead was translated and never tasted death.
