If they are nice or kind...why is it so hard to be the same. Is it just hormones and having to separate yourself from them?

Because teens and parents don't mix when it comes to being a teenager. I don't care if you're a teen or not, you are gonig to rebel against your parents. Why? Because you think you know more than your parents. Face the facts. If you're a teen reading this right now, you are probably saying, I don't think I know everything...that's you rebeling against what Im saying. When you get older and you realize this, you're going to be like, holy chit, he was right, I did think I knew everything. The reason of this is because of self pride. Pride is a BIG word to teens. And when pride is hurt, words start to fly. ANywho, hope this answered your ? alittle. ~JUStin

i'm not a teen but i'm 21 and always around teens... (i'm a youth leader at my church)...
i think it's a combination of things... hormones, peer pressure, new responsibilities, having to learn and grow to be your own person...
it might also partly be resentment... i remember when i was a teen i was so confused about so much... i still kind of wanted to be a little girl, but at other times i'd want to be an adult. i couldn't make up my mind so mom and dad tried to do it for me and get me to grow up before i wanted to. then the hormones came out and i argued and fought about things that didn't really matter.

i thought the reason i did this was because i had a pretty bad childhood, with a bipolar, drunken mom always screaming at my dad... but then i realized that the pastor's kid at my church did the same thing, and i thought he had no reason to: his parents are awesome!

so i guess it's just being confused and trying to figure out who you are, hormones and all...

dont take it personal. teens will snap on anyone. blame changing hormones not your child or yourself.

I don't know. I wonder that myself. I get cocky with my parents sometimes, but I wish I wasn't. I feel like I just can't help it.
