It is a way in which human beings are trying to comprehend the unknown, all the things thts happening around us, including our very existence.Trying to give new names and formulate new ideas just to make some sense to our mind.

Here's my view: "Science is learning by asking questions and looking for things that give the answers." Probably not good -- I'd try to find some way of explaining "objective evidence to support or disprove a hypothesis", but that's way too much for a seven-year-old. The key point is that science relies on objective evidence rather than authority or opinion.

It's about asking questions like "Why is the sky blue?" and "How do fishes breathe underwater?" then working out the answers.
Lots of people have done this. Scientists work things out - we understand rainbows.
