I'm in need of a really good, comprehensive, graphic design tutorial (preferably a free one). Something that covers everything from color to typography to Photoshop. Does anyone have a suggestion?

If you own or know someone who owns the Adobe Creative Suite, it comes with a tutorial for each of its programs. It's not online and it's not free, but it may be borrowable and it can be done on your computer. I haven't tried it myself as I already know how to use the programs, but I might try it to learn some advanced techniques at some point in the future.

Consider the possibility of working an internship or volunteering your graphic design services to a non-profit agency. I don't know about you, but I alway learn better by DOING.

i do not study loose, yet per chance quite lower priced. have you ever seen going to a used book shop? they have a lot of tutorial stuff mutually with used college textbooks. i purchased some books on information superhighway web site layout that did not value a lot. locate the nearest e book save close to you, or you could put up a message at a college that you've an interest in procuring used books.
